Excellent Flashlight (charger and batteries only so so) , 12 / 31 / 2011

Ordered this light with batteries and charger on a Pickegg.com sale. The Flashlight is VERY bright and has a good patern (bright spot with good spill around the edges). This light has a very nice range of brightness levels (current draw about 1.6A on high, about 0.6A on medium and about 0.09A on low). The low light setting gives a very usable light output and 20 to 30 hours operation from a freshly charged battery while maintaining a reasonably useful light output. Construction is solid and I have had no problem with reliability. The charger is acceptable but will only charge the 18600 size batteries (1 or 2 at a time) and the batteries that came with my light were 2400 mAH, unprotected cells that I think were older stock. I would recommend buying the flashlight without the batteries and charger (SKU: 1299078) and then buy the higher capacity 18600 cells now available and a charger that will charge all sizes of li-ion batteries.
